How do I cut Skirting & Wall Duct bodies & lids?Skirting Duct & Snap-Fit Lid • Ideally a slide compound mitre saw with a triple tungsten carbide cutting blade suited to cutting aluminium. Generally the more teeth on the blade – the better the cut. • We also recommend the use of cutting wax, this ensures a smooth cut and stops build up of aluminium to the saw blade. Drop-In Lid • Steel duct lids require the use of a portable sheetmetal guillotine. We have one available for hire within the Perth metropolitan area. If you would like to enquire about Guillotine hire, please contact us today.

Can I run Skirting & Wall Duct vertically?Skirting Duct & Snap-Fit Lid • You can. Snap-Fit style Skirting & Wall Duct is the perfect solution for installing Skirting & Wall Duct easily. • When installing Snap-Fit style Skirting & Wall Duct & Lid from a horizontal to a vertical position, we recommend mitre cutting both the adjoining duct bodies and lids at a 45 Degree / -45 Degree angle, then screw fixing the duct body to the wall. Drop-In Lid • When it comes to installing Drop-In style Skirting & Wall Duct from a horizontal to a vertical position, again, we recommend mitre cutting both duct bodies at a 45 Degree / -45 Degree angle then screw fixing the duct bodies to the wall. Drop-In style lids do not need to be cut, they can slide one behind the other. • Always screw fix every Drop-In style lid to the duct body when installing in a vertical position.
